“Transportation truck drivers have higher rates of skin cancer, with more than half of all cases occurring on the left side of the body — the side most exposed while driving.”

— Commercial Carrier Journal

TRUCKERS TAN

It is important for individuals who
spend a significant amount of time
in the sun to know about and
understand the importance
of sun safety.

Any individuals who frequently find
themselves exposed to the sun for
work or play know how unflattering
an uneven tan can be.

Along with the well-known
professions also carry the risk of
unusual or unbecoming tan lines.

MEDICAL REVIEWS

Truckers for example, have at times found themselves riddled with what has now become known as “Truckers Tan.”

This is a single arm tan caused by a large amount of time driving with the sun only reaching the left arm.

While a trucker tan is not preferable, more serious problems can be caused by frequent exposure to UV rays.

Skin cancer is one of the more serious dangers of the sun.

While ultraviolet (UV) radiation is the primary cause of skin cancer, caused by sun exposure.
